NEW DELHI: After hearing for three days grievances from elected representatives of Congress, the AICC panel looking into dissidence in Punjab unit came across a strong counter defence from chief minister Amarinder Singh.
Singh, who gave a point by point rebuttal of the issues raised by party leaders, assured the panel of taking further steps to bolster the party position in the assembly elections in February 2022. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined the meeting through video conferencing.
While the CM cryptically told reporters that discussions pertained to internal issues and preparations for polls, it is learnt that the marathon three-hour-long session revolved around the Punjab satrap’s clarification on the issues raise by party members.
